The MEDIEVAL TILES
is inspiried by patterns found upon clay floor tiles from the 13th
to 16th centuries.
It was during this medieval period that tiles were most
popular. Most of the clays used to make them were rich in iron minerals giving
the tiles a brick red tone.
The colours for the Medieval tiles pattern have been
taken from needlework of this period.
The model is stitched on Sand Castle Jobelan using two strands of floss over
two fabric threads.
Approximate design size (121 x 121 stitches):
7.75" x 7.75" on 32 count linen
8.75" x 8.75" on 28 count linen
The pattern has four pages. The backstitching chart is shown separately upon
the reverse of each page. This design is only available as a chart pack.
Medieval Tiles contains a large number of ¾ stitches, particularly
within the border. Please refer to our F.A.Q. for guidelines of how to treat these ¾ stitches.
