Inspired from a stone cross in Scotland, the
GAELIC
BANNER has vines arranged around an
Ogham engraved sword with a rampant dragon and griffon.
OGHAM is an alphabet for one
of the ancient Celtic languages. The letters consist of one to five
perpendicular or angled strokes crossing a central line that is often vertical.
The model is stitched on Cream linen using two strands of floss over
two fabric threads.
Approximate design size (96 x 450 stitches):
6.0" x 28.25" on 32 count linen
7.0" x 32.25" on 28 count linen
The pattern has six pages. The backstitching chart is shown separately upon
the reverse of each page. This design is only available as a chart pack.
Gaelic Banner contains a large number of ¾ stitches, particularly
within the border. Please refer to our F.A.Q. for guidelines of how to treat these ¾ stitches.
